My New Decade!

Hey everyone,

Tuesday the 13th was my 20th birthday. I didnt have time to take a paid day off from work, but it so happened that i had a really bad migraine headache that day. So i called in. :-) I had a pretty good day. i slept in till 11 or so and then lazed around for a lil bit. Then Kyle took me to dinner at Applebees. My friend Timara went with us too. Then we all went shopping later in the evening. It being a weekday, nothing was nearly as crowded as normal. It was a pretty nice layed back day!I got a lot of text messages and calls saying happy birthday. So it was nice. Me and Timmi at Applebees

I got to thinking that day tho. (you all are going to get some insight on my life) I got to thinking about the last ten years of my life. Its crazy to think how much i have done and how fast and slow it all went, if you know what i mean. I remember turning ten. It seems like a long time ago. We lived in California then. We had a big party in the churches fellowship hall! lol. Then when i turned 12, we moved here. I didnt want to leave all my friends in Cali, and i hated my parents for making us leave. Lets just say that the first year or so here wasnt so good for me and sarah. 5th - 6th grade is a bad time to move. When i was 14 we started at Columbus Christian school and started playing a bunch of sports year round and it seemed like the time flew by because we were going non-stop! Sarah and I played basketball, volleyball, softball(2teams), tennis and cheerleading. It was a busy schedule. We stayed there thru 9th grade and we decided that we wanted to go to publice school. It was the best decision. We already knew a bumch of people from before we went to CCS, so we werent strangers. I had a couple boyfriends and sarah had been dating this one guy for a LONG time. I dated this one guy, Justin O'Connell and we got close, so when he died in a car accident at the age of 17, everyone was devestated. But luckely i had someone to help me through it! Kyle was there for me through the whole thing. Justin and Kyle had known each other when they were little. So the past couple of years have gone by pretty quickly and here i am 20 years old with a son and graduated high school, ready for this new chapter in my Life. I hope it brings love and happiness and that it will go by slowly, because i have learned to cherish my time.

Sickness and the Doctor

After the holidays i noticed that Matthew was starting to get sick. He didnt have a fever or anything, just some sneezing and a lil cough. Well this past monday i took him into the doctor for them to check it out. Matthew's doctor wasnt there so we had to see someone esle. The doc we saw checked Matthew out and he said " Its just a cold. He will be fine in a couple of days."At the doctors Monday

HA. So much for those words. On my birthday(Tuesday), we decided to stay the night with my friend Timara and while we were there Matthew started wheezing horribly and coughing! So the next morning i called and took him to the doctor again. Yet again Matthews doc was not there so we had to see someone else but it turned out ok because we got to see the doctor that Matthew had had at the hospital. So Dr. Larson checked him out and he said that Matthew had an upper resportory infection and he gave him a scrpit for some antibiotics. Unfortunately i had to go to work, so mom and dad had him all day. He wasnt going ANYWHERE. So i come home and start to put him to bed, his cough sounds horrbile and he feels warm, so i think to myself, "i will take his temp first."

Good thing i did .It was 102.4 . I was like oh my godness. Now i know that thats not that high. But for a baby of Matthews age it has room for concern so i give him a colder bath and some tyenol to try and get it down and that wouldnt work. So i end up calling the nurse hotline. They tell me to take him to the emergency room. Of course this was at 2 o clock in the morning. So we go and get checked out. His temp was still 102. The doctor comes in and listens to him cough a couple times and tells me that Matthew has Crupe. :_( (cry symbol). The nurses and everyone on the night shift thought he was the cutest thing even tho he didnt feel good. The nurse gave him a steriod shot, which would help take the swelling in his throat down and the some tyenol and we were on our way home. We got home around 4 30 am. (i shortened this past part, everyone was SuPeR nice and kind. Not at all the rush in and out thing).
In his gown. Cute but sad.(top)
In Mommy's Arms. (bottom)

Today he is still feeling bad. The shot has helped him some. I feel so bad for him. He is really fussy. He goes to cry or make a noise and nothing comes out, but you can tell it hurts him to even try that and he just makes a face that tells you hes in pain. So everyone, please, pray for him to get better soon!

We love and miss you all
Ps i will post bout my birthday tomorrow. im too tired right now

10 Stocking Stuffer Ideas

The Pocket Get Off the Phone Excuse Machine

Nothing says aggravating quite like an annoying phone call you just can’t get away from. The Pocket Get Off the Phone Excuse Machine eliminates that problem once and for all. From a baby crying to a car crashing, you’ll never be without an excuse to get off of the dreaded phone call again!

Whoopie Cushions

People are longing for nostalgia, and simple items like whoopie cushions and hand buzzers are selling like hotcakes. If you want to bring a smile to someone’s face, give them a Whoopie cushion as a stocking stuffer. It’ll be a source of amusement all day long.

The Stella Awards

If you and your friends are the type to get annoyed when someone abuses the civil court system, you’re going to love the Stella Awards by Randy Cassingham. This book makes a great stocking stuffer and highlights the most bizarre of civil lawsuits in a hilarious and entertaining manner. The only thing that’s not funny about this book is that the crazy cases that are highlighted are true!

Half-Eaten Cookies

Getting cookies in your stocking is probably OK, but imagine getting cookies that already have a bite taken out of them! This hilarious cookie cutter will have your friends wondering what you were thinking when you give them cookies that aren’t all there.

The Do-It-Yourself Stocking Stuffer

This stocking stuffer is best for couch potatoes. It's called the "Home Exerciser." Making it is simple. Just take a block of wood and make a sign that you glue onto the wood. The sign says:

Home Exerciser
1. Place the Home Exerciser in the middle of the floor.
2. Walk around the Home Exerciser three times.
3. Take a well deserved break: you've walked around the block three whole times.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians has the honor of being perhaps the worst holiday movie ever made. It not only has a stupid plot, bad acting and ridiculous special effects, but the title alone could qualify it as a really bad movie. But, it's now available on DVD, and it's SO bad that there will be a lot of laughs.

Bobble Heads

Bobble heads also make great stocking stuffers. Figurines with little bodies and big heads that bobble around just seem to make people smile. They’re becoming increasingly popular and are being collected by the young and old alike. From sports to pets, bobble heads are everywhere and the humorous ones always bring a smile to the recipient’s face.

Tiki Tissue Box Holder

This is surely not your ordinary tissue box holder! Whenever someone needs a tissue, they have to pull it from the tiki’s nose. This tiki tissue box holder is sure to bring laughs not just on Christmas morning, but the whole year through.

Funny Face Pacifiers

If you have a baby on your shopping list, these funny face pacifiers make one hilarious stocking stuffer. Unfortunately baby will be too young to benefit from the humor of it, but the adults will be laughing the whole day through.

Snowman Poop

Know someone who was naughty this year? Forget about coal in the stocking -- give them a baggie full of snowman poop instead. A little baggie filled with miniature white marshmallows and a cute little note saying that your naughty friend is getting nothing but snowman poop for Christmas will bring on serious bouts of laughter from all around

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Robert Frost

Robert Frost is my favorite poet. Two Roads Diverged in a Wood would have to be my favorite,
but this poem is my second favorite. Why, Do you ask? I love it because you can almost see yourself
sitting horseback, staring at the woods with snow on the winter solstice, just for the sole purpose of
capturing the captivating beauty of the quiet snow falling to cover the woods. He (the speaker) makes it
clear that he has somewhere to be, but yet he stops to take in the awe striking scene. The mood that
frost sets is peaceful and calm, yet mysterious. In the final stanza, the poem brings the whole scene together,

an intense love and awe of nature, a never ending patience and some unknown task or problem that robs the
speaker of rest. The dark and deep woods seem to reflect the speakers mood of tiredness. And the miles to go
before i sleep says that he has a responsibility to do. So, what do i think this poem is saying...
To me, the poem is inspiring. The speaker is tired, but yet h e stops to witness the beauty. The horse
think that is is odd tells me that it isnt something that the driver dies often but that he needs a break from his
responsibilities to have time to himself, to reflect, even if its just for that moment. What i get out of it is that
we need to appreciate the things that are around us. Even if its just for that one moment. We need to spend time
to look for the little things in life and be grateful for them. We shouldn't be so caught up in everything else that
we forget to look, and fail to see the beauty of things.
S
o as this year comes to a close. Appreciate the things that you have, help those in need and look around.

You just might see something unforgettable.

Christmas Countdown

Hey Everyone

Just wanted to blog about my day off. I am so glad that this week is over. Work has been pretty good and bad all at the same time. We found out at work Thrusday that my work was 26% over our sales for this year so we got a extra week off for christmas. Yay. So now i am off work the 19th thru the 5th. I am so happy! So today i went shopping for the few people i had to buy for yet and let me tell you it was CRAZY. People were everywhere. Drivers were being stupid in the inch of snow we had. Everything was rush rush rush. I think that sometimess people forget the reason for this holiday. Its about giving and being with your friends and family. Not about giving the most expensive gift or even the holiday parties. We are celebrating Christ's birth and people forget that. Just the other day, black friday i think, i heard in the news about how this Walmart employee got trampled by the crowd trying to get in to get the sales. Its sad that those people were so selfish to do that.

Anywaz.... I just want everyone to not forget about the real reason for the season and i hope you all have a great holiday.
